Lowlands Farm SEND Therapeutic Farming Practices

Why not use our Farm as your outside classroom and reap the benefits of what we, our land, animals and knowledge have to offer.

Duration : minimum 2 hours to full day per visit

Price:  free for schools & colleges. Minimum 2 students to full classroom size.

At Lowlands Farm we offer therapeutic farming practices, using a holistic approach in a safe relaxing environment giving individuals or groups the ability to access a green space where they can interact with our alpacas, horses and other small animals.

We have already seen the positive impact the farm gives to our volunteers and schools that we work closely with. We aim to provide a calm, happy, positive environment for clients to gain a feeling of self worth, satisfaction and wellbeing.

We are working with TAS team and the existing successful programme is currently running into its third year. CLICK to read their endorsement of the positive impact this program has had with the students.

Lowlands SEND Term Time Program
Programs run throughout term time on one day a week.  Format overview but maybe tailored to your students needs.

Our SEND farm visits provide a calm, welcoming environment where children and young people with additional needs can experience the benefits of nature and farming.  The farm offers hands on sensory activities such as meeting animals, exploring the outdoors, and taking part in simple farm tasks that support confidence, communication and wellbeing.  The sessions are flexible and adapted to meet individual new, with focus on creating a safe, inclusive space where every visitor can learn, explore, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of time on the farm.
